£140,000-a-week man ‘ready’ to agree new Liverpool deal

Liverpool stars Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah were on fire in the last campaign but lately, the trio have been out of form.

In such a situation, Daniel Sturridge has stepped up big time for the Merseysiders. So far, in the current campaign, the former Manchester City striker has only started two games in all competitions and scored 4 goals.

Now, according to reports (The Sun), the 29-year-old forward is ready to agree a new deal with the Reds. His current contract with the club will expire next summer.

Sturridge is a quality goal-scorer but unfortunately, he has mostly been on the treatment table for the Reds. In his first full season at Anfield, he scored over 20 league goals under the management of Brendan Rogders but since then, the injuries have haunted him big time.

Liverpool know that when fit, Sturridge is an asset but they will surely be looking to avoid a situation whereby they hand him a new deal and he spends most of his time out injured.

At the moment, Klopp needs him because the Reds lack depth in their strike-force. Should he hand him a new deal as well?

As per the provided The Sun link, the former Chelsea man is one of the highest earning players at the club and gets £140,000-a-week. Does he deserve a pay rise?
