2 Arsenal targets identified by report

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger seldom fails to disappoint with his prudence in the transfer market.

In truth it’s a sensible approach in a riduculous market. But that’s not what most Arsenal fans want to hear.

Furthermore, when Arsene has gone big, he has tended to do well, with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez key to the current vintage.

But the latest rumours suggest that he may revert to his traditional style of finding young players with great raw materials and trying to develop them into top stars rather than buying ready made winners from the top shelf, who cost a fortune.

Andre Silva and Dayot Upamecano: Football Whispers identifies two Arsenal targets for January

Andre Silva – Porto

The Portugese seem to have an endless production line of young talent and that shows no sign of drying up if this young man is anything to go by.

At 21 the Porto striker has played at every youth international level for Portugal before graduating to the full international side in 2016. And what form so far! In five games he has bagged four goals and generally thrilled.

He also has 8 league goals in just 21 games for Porto.

At 6ft 1in he’s got great feet and is quick but can also put himself about and may be perfect for the Premier League.

Dayot Upamecano – Red Bull Salzburg

The 18-year-old defender has been linked with some of Europe’s top clubs already and it’s easy to see why. He’s so composed and strong or one so young and will surely be a regular at centre back for France in future.

Arsenal fans: could he command game time straight away?
