4-3-3: Manchester United’s Best XI to take 3 points at West Ham

Champions League Trophy

So this is it – a far more important game than The FA Cup Final awaits Manchester United on Tuesday evening.

Because, more than a Wembley win at the end of May, a victory over West Ham in London on Tuesday night will give the Manchester United board a reason to keep Louis van Gaal on for the final 12 months of his contract.

Manchester United have been abject at times and the 1-0 victory against Norwich really summed up the lack of chemistry in this team.

So Van Gaal should consider himself incredibly fortunate that United are anywhere near the top four. Had Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool not had inconsistent seasons themselves United would be way off the pace.

West Ham will be playing their last game at Upton Park before a move to the Olympic Stadium next term. So they will be up for this one too.

The result of the game could well hinge on the availability of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial who pulled up with a tight hamstring just before kick off at Norwich on Saturday.

United missed his pace and creativity in and around the box and West Ham will provide much sterner opposition than the flailing Canaries did.

Marcus Rashford will surely play if fit, having been rather unwisely rested at the weekend.

So here is our team for the big one and we have squeezed as much pace in there as possible.

What do you think is Manchester United’s best XI?
