Manchester United make £72m Bid, Shortlist 4 More Targets

Big news today for Manchester United fans as a highly respected British media outlet reports that the club has made a 72m GBP bid for the sensational 18-year-old Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

The French international has taken the football world by storm this season and scored almost as many goals as he has played matches.

The Guardian reports that the bid has been rejected with the French club not keen to sell and valuing the player at around 100m GBP.

They write:

Manchester United have £72m bid for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappé rejected
• French club tell United they will not sell for less than £100m

The youngster has scored 24 goals in 38 games in his breakthrough season at Monaco and spearheaded their surprise run to the semi-finals of the Champions League. He has explosive pace, dribbling skills and is devastating in front of goal.

The same reports states that Manchester United have shortlisted four other major targets ahead of what looks like another huge summer in the market.

Toni Kroos

The superb German international has been coveted by Manchester United for some time but opted to move to Real Madrid after Brazil 2014. He’s been a regular for Los Blancos and he would walk in to the United side as a perfect successor to Michael Carrick.

Fabinho

Manchester United haven’t enjoyed a specialist right back since Rafael da Silva and perhaps this summer they will finally acquire one. Fabinho is a speedy and adventurous Brazilian international who looks tailor-made for United.

Tiemoué Bakayoko

Another product of the superb Monaco side that has blitzed Europe with goals this season. Bakayoko is a powerful, box-to-box midfielder.

Radja Nainggolan

The 28-year-old 5ft 9in Belgium International has a rocket of a long-range shot on him and would be a brilliant Premier League player. He’s tough, industrious and combative. But perhaps Manchester United fans would rather go for a slightly younger player of great potential as Jose Mourinho attempt to mould the next great United vintage.
