Tottenham signed some added steel last summer as they prepared for a long slog in The Premier League. With them sitting comfortably in second place as the season enters its final furlong that move appears to have paid off.
But there is a sense that if they want to kick on again they will have to add even more creativity up top. Vincent Janssen hasn’t been the answer and has proved to be rather one-paced in attack.
Perhaps, as an understudy to Harry Kane, he hasn’t really been able to gather momentum but TFF wouldn’t be surprised if he moved on after just one season at the club.
And latest reports state that Spurs may enter the market for a player who creates as much as he finishes off himself.
British media outlet, The Daily Mirror, reports:
Tottenham interested in £30million move for Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa
Te 26-year-old Brazil international, who has 18 caps and three goals for his country since his debut in 2014 has been a sensation over the last few years.
There has been so much talk of a move to the Premier League but he has so far stayed away from UK shores to play his trade around the world.
From Gremio to Shaktar Donetsk to Bayern Munich the forward certainly has broad experience.
He signed for Bayern in 2015 and has enjoyed two decent seasons with the German champions having played 43 games last season and 31 so far this. He’s scored seven goals in both campaigns and is doing even better this season than last.
He’s a wonderful talent and someone who can unlock even the tightest of defences.
At 26 he perhaps still has his best years ahead of him and its difficult to see any Tottenham fan not applauding such a signing.
