Arsenal prepared to smash salary cap

Arsenal will hope to end the season on a high with the FA Cup this weekend but their demotion from Champions League football is a huge blow for the club.

And it could have a massive bearing on their ability to sign and keep their best players over the next few months. One of the biggest concerns would have to be Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean international seemed unhappy at times this season and would have a clutch of top suitors if he did decide to leave the club. Both Premier League and European outfits would surely be interested in taking the superb forward.

Reports in England are suggesting that Arsenal are trying to pull out all the stops to keep the player at the club beyond this summer with a massive new contract.

British media outlet, The Daily Mail, reports:

Arsenal make Alexis Sanchez huge £270,000 offer to stay at the Emirates as Bayern Munich monitor the Chilean

Sanchez is by far and away the most potent attacking weapon Arsenal have. And he is easily one of the best players in the Premier League. Without him there would be a big rebuilding plan and, realistically, there would be very little hope of Arsenal signing someone as good as Sanchez. Not only does he have a great skill but he is at the absolute top of his game right now.

All minds will be focused on the FA Cup this weekend but beyond that Arsenal have a serious job on their hands to keep Sanchez and build a really top team around him next term. Whether or not that is with Arsene Wenger remains to be seen. Arsenal fans – is he irreplaceable?
