Spurs reach agreement with reps, could secure £20.3m signing

Wilmar-Barrios-Boca-Juniors

Spurs are looking to improve their squad in January and a certain Colombian international in the form of Wilmar Barrios is heavily linked with a move to the north Londoners.

According to a report covered by El Crack Deportivo, Spurs have already reached an agreement with the representatives of the Boca Juniors midfielder and need to define small details of the contract.

As far as the fee is concerned, the Argentine outlet have mentioned that Tottenham will make an offer of 23 million euros (£20.3m) to secure the signing of one of the best midfielders that the South American club have had in recent years.

The 25-year-old can play in multiple midfield positions but mainly he plays in front of the back line as a defensive midfielder.

Last season, he made 23 appearances in the Primera Division and scored 1 goal.  This season, so far, he has featured in 5 league games.

At Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino has got quality and depth in his midfield department. The former Southampton boss has got players like Dembele, Dier, Wanyama and Winks and all of them can effectively play in the holding/center midfield role.

Therefore, the Argentine manager really does not need to sign another play breaker for the team. In your opinion, should Spurs sign another DM?
