Arsenal: £50m move mooted

It’s never easy to sign the best and, if reports are to be believed, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will have his work cut out in the remaining weeks of the window if he wants to sign either of these two.

Because, British tabloid, The Daily Star Sunday, reports:

Arsene Wenger could land Mauro Icardi if Arsenal fail in Lacazette bid

ARSENAL could land Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi for £50million if they fail in their pursuit of Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.

TFF thinks that either would be great additions for Arsenal. Why? Well not only because of their obvious ability to score goals – Alexandre Lacazette has bagged 54 over the last two seasons leaving him second only in the French scoring charts to Zlatan, and Mauro Icardi has scored 63 in 134 club games – but they both offer something different to the current top man Olivier Giroud.

There is no point buying another player like the Frenchman and the Arsenal boss seems to be acknowledging that he needs an explosive alternative who can puncture opposition defences with pace and craft.

TFF has always been a big fan of Arsene Wenger the man. We do sometimes feel that Arsenal could employ someone else to deal with transfers though! Someone who’s a bit more ruthless at executing transactions than the softly spoken French gentleman.

But these transfers would be difficult for anyone to pull off and they may require one of the players to put in a transfer request as their respective clubs seem hellbent on keeping their top talents.

Let’s see Icardi doing the business
