Unfortunately for Arsenal fans much of the transfer talk over this January window has been about the potential departures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
However greedy football has become these days it is an irrefutable fact that unless clubs like Arsenal increase their salary caps then players like this will always be tempted by moves to even bigger clubs.
But surely there must be certain players who simply demand to get that top bracket of pay and Alexis Sanchez has to be one of them. Because he is a master of his sport. And even though Arsenal would benefit from the signing of the midfielder mooted in this swap move, it still seems like a ridiculous suggestion to TFF.
Sky Sports passes this one on:
Italian newspaper Tuttosport has an absolute belter on its front page today – it claims Juventus want to swap Miralem Pjanic for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Pjanic has been an excellent player for Juventus but has only been at the club for this season so it’s difficult to imagine them letting them him go.
If the Old Lady could he do a deal involving Sanchez then perhaps they would be tempted but Arsenal will surely pull out all the stops to keep hold of the Chilean who has been one of the best players of this season in the Premier League and who is still in his absolute pomp at the age of 28.
He’s given Arsenal another string to their bow with his pace, dynamism, and ability to work in between the lines to cause havoc to opposition defences.
Arsenal could use Pjanic to reinvigorate a midfield with the waning talents of Santi Cazorla but surely Sanchez would be a more important player to hold on to moving forward. He almost guarantees Champions League football each season and he seems to be getting even better – if that’s possible.
