Premier League leaders Arsenal are monitoring Marcus Rashford’s situation at Manchester United, with the England international’s future in Manchester in major doubt.
Barcelona unlikely to take up option on Rashford
The forward has spent this season on loan at Catalan giants Barcelona, who reportedly have a £26m option to sign Rashford permanently at the end of the season, with the clause believed to expire on 15th June. Reports from the Spanish media suggest that the Blaugrana are unlikely to activate that clause, though.
Rashford has been rather underwhelming for the Spanish top-flight league leaders, scoring 13 times in 46 appearances in all competitions.
The fact that he had competition from the likes of young superstar Lamine Yamal and Brazilian international Raphinha for a starting position out wide has not helped his chances of first-team football.
Rashford hasn’t quite performed at the same level as the pair, even if he has proven to be a useful squad player for Hansi Flick’s team.
Unlikely to stay at United

According to other media reports, Manchester United are not planning to reintegrate the forward into their squad and are still looking to sell their youth product this summer.
United are looking to reshape their squad ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign. Selling the forward could help with their recruitment drive, not just the relatively small fee they would receive, but also the savings on his wages, which will reportedly go up to £325,000 per week in the summer.
Arsenal is looking to add attacking depth to their squad
The Gunners have enjoyed an excellent campaign, as they currently sit top of the Premier League table with just three games remaining, and have also recently booked their place in the Champions League final.
Despite their strong campaign, they will still want to improve next season, and Rashford could add depth on the wings and also up front. However, the forward could likely once again be considered just a squad player if he moved to Arsenal, similar to his current situation at Barcelona.
