Arsenal join race for underrated powerhouse

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Steven Nzonzi, according to latest reports.

British media outlet, The Daily Express, reports:

Express Sport understands Arsenal have joined the race to sign Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.

The uncapped Frenchman is also a target for Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City, along with Serie A giants Juventus.

The 28-year-old Frenchman had three excellent seasons at Stoke after a few good years at Blackburn.

But he moved to Spain last year and has been a revelation at Sevilla.

TFF has always been a big fan of the player and it’s an anomaly that he has been overlooked by France for his entire career.

But he has been something of a late bloomer and perhaps his time will come.

But he has also faced huge competition for places with France having such quality in the midfield with Paul Pogba, Morgan Schneiderlin and Moussa Sissoko to name but a few.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger seems to finally have bought into the notion – long-held by most fans – that The Gunners need more muscle in their midfield.

The additions of Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Coquelin have added another dimension to this Arsenal side.

And TFF believes that the addition of Nzonzi could be reminiscent of Arsenal with Patrick Vieira.

The 6ft 3in defensive midfielder is a towering present in the air and has a physical side to his game.

But he’s also got that excellent French technique. He has a lovely range of passing and can start attacks as well as breaking them up.

TFF genuinely believes that this signing could be a real coup for the club.

Arsenal fans: a real coup or a waste of money who wouldn’t get in the side anyway?
