Great Addition: Arsenal linked to £30m bid which may not be popular

Arsenal fans may be somewhat peeved to hear rumours that Arsene Wenger is planning to bid for a Manchester City reject who came from Swansea.

British tabloid, The Daily Star, writes:

ARSENE WENGER is set to launch a £30m bid for unwanted Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony.

But TFF believes that this could be a superb signing for the club although Everton also appear keen.

We feel that Bony has been really unlucky at Manchester City. He always knew that he would be fighting for his place with one of the best strikers in the world – Sergio Aguero – and this was a losing battle that prohibited him from gaining any momentum.

Niggling injuries also regularly kept him out of the squad and he looks very likely to be deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester City.

But we think that Bony can be one of the best strikers in The Premier League.

The Ivory Cost international, who has 41 caps and 14 goals for his country (as well as 130 in 278 club games), scores wherever he plays and he offers something different to Olivier Giroud because he is noticeably stronger and more bullish. Furthermore the 27-year-old is deceptively quick.

TFF has usually been among the first to vilify Wenger for his tactics in the transfer market. But we think that, if this tale has substance, it could turn out to be a masterful acquisition for Arsenal.

Bony has the strength and shooting prowess not dissimilar to a Jean-Pierre Papin and he could be a brilliant signing for an Arsenal squad which really needs more power up top.

Gunners fans: a good potential buy?
