Arsenal’s Best Player of 2016 – any debate?

Ok, when assessing the top players of Arsenal’s calendar year it’s easy to look straight at the forwards, some of whom have been sensational.

But TFF puts a shortlist together and two defenders immediately come to mind.

Hector Bellerin

What a find for Arsenal and their biggest problem over the next few years is going to be holding on the Spaniard.

At just 21 years of age TFF thinks that he could walk into any team in Europe already. He’s been capped three times by Spain and he will surely have a long career as their first choice left back.

And oh the pace of the man! He’s so quick, so comfortable on the ball and has genuinely top quality end-product. What a dream of a player.

Petr Cech

Cech to Arsenal was the most obvious transfer ever. It’s like Joe Hart to Liverpool now. A total no-brainer.

And Cech has done exactly what he said on the tin. He’s solid as a rock and has made the Arsenal defence far more organised. Hopefully he will play on until 60.

Mesut Ozil

One of the most gifted players in the Premier League and some Arsenal fans will surely have him down as their player of 2016 with so many great goals and assists.

Gunners fans hate it when we say this but we still tend to think of him as a player who can go missing when it really matters against the biggest sides.

TFF’s ARSENAL PLAYER OF THE SEASON 2016

ALEXIS SANCHEZ

Certainly not a player who goes missing against the biggest sides. Barcelona must be gutted that they ever sold this speed machine because, almost impossibly, he would actually improve their front line.

At 28, the 5ft 6in forward is right at the top of his game. He has the industry of two players, is so fast and penetrating on the ball and has become an out and out goal scorer. He’s almost the perfect modern number 9 and Arsenal and the Premier League are so lucky to have him.

Arsenal fans: do any of you disagree?
