Barcelona optimistic of another major creative signing this month

Barcelona are said to be optimistic of signing Paco Alcacer in this transfer window according to reports in Spain.

Spanish media outlet, Marca, who have an ear very close the ground with all things La Liga, report that Barcelona still feel that they can get a deal over the line this month despite failed bids. They say:

Barcelona still optimistic of capturing Paco Alcacer.

The highly promising 22-year-old number 9 has been gaining interest across Europe for some time after his goalscoring exploits and brilliant performances in a seriously struggling team.

The Spaniard hit 15 goals in 40 games for Valencia last season and has also been making waves at international level.

Since his debut in 2014 Alcacer has scored 6 goals in 13 games for his country – another team which is in transition and not at the peak of its powers.

Barcelona haven’t exactly gone big in the market this summer and this capture could put a different complexion on their summer business. Because Paco Alcacer is a player who will feel that he can get a lot of game time in the first XI over the next few years. He’s a ruthless finisher and a good all-rounder.

The 5ft 9in striker has scored 43 goals in 123 games for Valencia over 5 seasons and hit 4 in 24 while out on loan at Getafe in 2012.

Let’s see some of his best moments in his early career. Barcelona fans: how quickly could Alcacer force his way into the first team?
