German giants and reigning champions Bayern Munich are in talks with Newcastle over the purchase of England international Anthony Gordon.
The winger has been linked with a switch to Bavarian regularly in recent months, and it seems Die Bayern are now making their interest in Gordon concrete, with relations between the two clubs reportedly good.
Newcastle are open to allowing Gordon to leave
Reportedly, Newcastle is willing to listen to Gordon, who, according to reports from the north east, would explore an alternative move if given the opportunity. He had previously been linked with a switch back to his native Merseyside with Liverpool, including in the summer of 2024.
Gordon’s agent was recently in Barcelona, though there is no confirmation that he was there to talk to the Spanish league leaders, while Premier League leaders Arsenal have been mooted as another potential destination for the winger.
However, it now seems Bayern are in pole position to sign Gordon this summer, when the transfer window opens. A move to the Champions League semi-finalists is likely to appeal to the English international.
Gordon has enjoyed a solid spell in the north east

Anthony Gordon joined Newcastle from Everton for a fee of around £45m in the January 2023 transfer window. He impressed in flashes with the Toffees, although his form towards the end of his Everton career did, with claims he had already arranged a move long before January.
He scored 11 Premier League goals and produced ten assists in his debut campaign. His second season was less fruitful, but he found the net 18 times across all competitions, including 10 goals in the Champions League. His record of six goals and two assists in 26 top-flight appearances is solid, if not spectacular.
However, Gordon’s form in European football’s elite competition was maybe what caught the attention of Bayern, who will be looking to strengthen their squad ahead of another tilt at the Bundesliga and Champions League titles next season.
