Kenya is a country in East Africa and its largest city is Nairobi. The country, which borders Tanzania, Uganda and South Sudan has a population of around 47m.

In fact gaming has become so popular in Kenya that a new tax had to be applied to gaming in September 2016 with gaming companies paying 12% tax in order to regulate the industry.

In general the country has one of the more liberal gaming markets in Africa and it launched its own online betting site in 2011. Today there are over 12 digital platforms which service the country’s ever greater gaming needs. Some of the digital platforms in the country are actually expanded to become international companies such as Sportpesa who did a shirt deal with Premier League club Hull City FC, such was their success.

Sports betting is so popular in Kenya that some estimates suggest that 5 million Kenyans or 11% of the total population have got involved in mobile betting at some stage.

Companies that are prevalent in Kenya include bet365, Bet Victor, Royal Panda, and Astral Bets casino. But there is a huge variety of options to choose from as this is a thriving industry in the country.
