Chelsea to be offered top striker?

The transfer speculation has started early this summer with rumours that Real Madrid will come calling for the wizardry of Eden Hazard in the approaching transfer window.

And while that piece of conjecture is unlikely to please any Chelsea fan, one latest report suggests that there may be a silver lining to any such cloud. The report states that the Blues will try everything to hold on to their star man but that Los Blancos could throw a sweetener into the deal if the Belgian decides he wants the move.

British media outlet, The Daily Mirror, writes:

Chelsea are hopeful of tying (sic) down the Belgium international to a new deal of around £300,000-a-week, but that will not stop Bernabeu chiefs trying to get him.

They are ready to throw Spain striker Alvaro Morata into any deal, which could see the overall value of a transfer top £100m for the first time.

Morata isn’t the quickest player that you will ever witness but he ticks most of the boxes to be a top Premier League number 9. He’s great with his back to goal, lethal in the box and has a velvety touch. He’s an intelligent footballer with a great temperament and will score goals in any top league, as proven in Italy and Spain.

With speculation constantly surrounding the future of Diego Costa, Morata could be the perfect replacement for Chelsea next term.

It would still leave the problem of replacing the almost irreplaceable in Eden Hazard. But with Willian chomping at the bit for more minutes it’s not as if Chelsea don’t have options.

The 24-year-old, 6ft 2in Morata has scored eight goals in 19 games for Spain. He’s hit 13 in 34 games for Real Madrid this season and scored 27 in 93 for a high successful Juventus side.
