Done Deal: Chelsea Sign Striker

He may not be the high-profile addition that many Chelsea fans have been waiting for but the Blues do seem to have stolen a march on their rivals by signing a brilliant and highly rated young player from Holland.

That’s according to British media outlet, the Daily Mail, which reports this evening:

Chelsea have signed promising young striker Daishawn Redan ahead of rivals

Chelsea have beaten Manchester United and Red Bull Leipzig to the signing of Ajax’s 16-year-old Daishawn Redan.

The Ajax starlet has been the subject of interest from all over Europe and it’s easy to see why. Because he’s got all the pace in the world and lots of raw talent. It should take a few years before he hones that talent and adds some elegant to his game. But he does seem to tick all the boxes in terms of a potential future great at Chelsea.

The report states that the decision was made earlier in the season that the player would leave Ajax at the end of this campaign. But his destination was unclear until now. And it appears that Chelsea have won the race for the excellent forward who scored goals for fun in the Ajax youth teams.

Chelsea will surely look to add a more experienced striker to their ranks in the coming weeks and months as Antonio Conte seeks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.

And Redan can’t be expected to do a job in the first team just yet. So expect another big-money signing in the next few weeks.

But let’s take a look at the youngster in action.
