Bid reported: Chelsea make another huge offer for 25-year-old

Koulibaly Napoli

Chelsea have once more upped the ante on their summer transfer business by increasing their offer for Kalidou Koulibaly according to latest reports. Sky Sports writes:

Chelsea have made an improved £38m bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Sky in Italy.

The reports states that Napoli have yet to pass comment on the bid.

But it represents another ruthless move in the market by Chelsea, who have already moved quickly to sign Michy Batshauyi and N’Golo Kante this summer.

The 25-year-old Senegal international, who made his debut for his country in 2015 and has 6 caps, stands at a monolithic 6ft 5in.

He’s played 81 times for Napoli over the last two seasons, after a move from Belgium.

And, if these reports have substance, there can be no question of Chelsea’s top defensive target for the summer.

But the size of the offer is surprising given the relative lack of international and top level experience that the player has.

He’s only turned out half a dozen times for Senegal and, while he has decent experience in Italy, it’s a completely different ball game to the fast-paced English Premier League.

But everyone has been hugely impressed by the coaching skills and professionalism of new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, not least because of his meticulous approach to the game.

And if he sees fit to spend such a vast amount to prise the player away from the team which finished second only to Juventus last season in Serie A, then Chelsea fans will be confident that Kalidou Koulibaly can do the business.

Let’s see some of his highlights.
