Chelsea: Major Bid Reported

TFF has long had the feeling that Chelsea will do some serious transfer business in the January window and reports have begun to surface that they have already put a big bid in.

British media outlet, The Guardian, states:

Chelsea’s £21m offer for midfielder Franck Kessié rejected by Atalanta

Just 20 years of age, the imposing midfielder has already represented his country, the Ivory Coast, on 15 occasions since his debut in 2015.

The 6ft powerhouse went on loan to Cesena last season and had a real breakthrough campaign before returning to Atlanta this year and striking five goals and just 14 appearances for the club. He looks like the real deal and ticks all the boxes for a combative, modern midfielder who also makers things happen in the final third.

The fact that Chelsea have had such a big opening bid rejected suggests that his club is fully aware of his value and what a special player he is.

Chelsea have lots of cash in the bank having sold Oscar to China and they will surely go another £10 million higher at least in order to prise the man away from the Italian side. But we think this one could definitely go ahead.

Chelsea already have the brilliant and N’Golo Kante in the engine room but he will surely need a break at some stage in the season and the likes of John Obi Mikel and Van Ginkel haven’t stepped up to the plate.

So this looks like a great signing for now and the future. Chelsea fans – a top deal if it comes off?
