Chelsea look set for another busy summer. The Blues have already confirmed a new head coach for next season in the shape of Xabi Alonso. The south west London club have now seemingly turned their attention to recruiting on the field.

Chelsea are believed to hold an interest in Aston Villa and England attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers, and also Sunderland’s Dutch goalkeeper Robin Roefs.

England international Rogers has been linked with moves to several Premier League clubs this summer, including Manchester United, after another strong campaign in the Premier League, and establishing himself as a regular in the England national team.

The former Middlesbrough star has scored 13 goals and produced ten assists in all competitions for the Villans this season, as he built on the promise of his productive previous season with the club from the Midlands.

The Villans are understandably reluctant to sell one of their star attacking players. However, despite qualifying for the Champions League this season, Villa could still have to sell players this summer to meet financial fair play rules. Selling Rogers may be the easiest way for the Midlands club to balance the books.

The Blues are chasing after highly-rated Dutch goalkeeper

Another player that Chelsea are reported to be interested in is Sunderland’s highly-rated young Dutch goalkeeper Simon Roefs, who the north east club are reported to rate at around £60m. The Black Cats signed Roefs last summer from NEC for a reported initial fee of £9m, plus a potential add-on of around £2.5m.

Roefs has emerged as one of the brightest young goalkeepers in his Premier League debut season, keeping ten clean sheets in the English top-flight.

His impressive form has also attracted Liverpool’s interest, who look set to sell first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker this summer, with the Brazilian believed to be in talks with Italian giants Juventus.
