Chelsea: Huge move mooted – Oscar replacement?

Chelsea’s current form is even more frightening when you comnsider the fact that Antonio Conte is still right at the start of his Chelsea career.

Chelsea aren’t scared to spend big and if Oscar leaves for China in a big money move they will be rolling in cash.

Reports in England this weekend suggest that the Blues are planning to launch a move for an unsettled Real Madrid player.

British media outlet, The Mirror, reports:

Chelsea plotting £75m bid for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez as replacement for China-bound Oscar

Rodriguez is a player whose talent cannot be refuted. He does some things on the football pitch which seem to defy the laws of physics.

But there is a definite sense that his form has tailed off in the last year or so and he has fallen down the pecking order of a squad of supreme talent.

In all of Europe, Rodriguez has to be one of the players most regularly linked with a move to another giant of the game.

The 25-year-old has played 52 times for Chelsea and scored 17 goals. At club level he scored 17 in 46 in his first year at Real Madrid but only has 2 in 16 outings so far this season.

Oscar hasn’t been getting too many minute son late at Chelsea anyway so it’s not as if there is a natural hole in the team if the Brazilian departs. But Rodriguez can play wide or though the middle and one would imagine that Pedro’s position would be most at risk of his arrival if Conte continues with the current formation.

Chelsea fans: is he worth the money and would he even get in the team?
