Chelsea have had a remarkable season so far but there was a definite sense of unfinished business in the transfer market last summer and few would be surprised if Antonio Conte took the opportunity to strengthen again in January.
Two youthful names are doing the rounds in the press today and ESPN reports:
Chelsea are ready to rekindle their interest in Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule when the transfer window reopens in January, sources close to the German club have told ESPN FC.
The 21-year-old already stands at 6ft 5in and it’s clear that Conte likes a big man at the back.
He made his debut for Germany this year and looks to have a fine career ahead of him.
The report states that Chelsea attempted to bring the player to The Bridge in the summer and will have another go in a few weeks.
Meanwhile Italian media outlet, Calciomercato, reports that Chelsea are monitoring the progress of Sampdoria starlet Luis Muriel.
The 25-year-old Colombia striker has played 14 times for his country and scored the solitary goal since his international debut in 2012.
But he has had more success in front of goal at club level with Sampdoria where he has notched 12 goals in 51 league games since his €12m move from Udinese. His current contract runs until 2019.
Let’s see the man in action. Chelsea fans: a good fit for the club?
