Chelsea open talks to sign A-list forward?

According to reports in France Chelsea have opened talks to sign Chile Forward Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

Everyone with a passing interest in football knows that players have all the power these days. If Sanchez – who hasn’t looked happy at some points of this season – decides that he wants a fresh challenge there is ultimately little that Arsenal can do. They can let him rot in the reserves or run their club like a business and aim to get the best price for the forward.

French outlet RMC reports (via BBC):

Premier League leaders Chelsea and Paris St-Germain have both opened talks with Arsenal and Chile forward Alexis Sanchez, 28. (RMC – in French)

It would be painful enough for Arsenal to lose the player at all. But to lose him to arch rivals Chelsea would be even worse than the Ashley Cole saga. Because while Cole was a top player in his prime, Sanchez is a true game changer.

TFF senses that this saga will run for some time and that Chelsea seem intent on bringing the player to the club, perhaps with the motive of replacing Diego Costa with a more mobile and pacy number nine. Sanchez can of course play anywhere across the front line and would be a fantastic addition to an already brilliant team.

Sanchez has hit 22 goals in just 38 games for Arsenal this season and has to be considered for the short list for Premier League player of the year.

Chelsea fans: would Sanchez be the best available signing that you could make this summer?
