Chelsea have put €60m on the table for striker: Conte in almost daily contact ahead of potential transfer

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been in almost daily contact with Alvaro Morata over a postnatal transfer, according to latest media reports.

Spanish media outlet, Marca, says:

The Italian himself has been in touch with the forward on almost a daily basis to assure him of his role should he join the London club and whilst a deal appears a way off in terms of finances and Real’s desire to sell, it remains a possibility.

Chelsea’s courtship of the forward has only gone as far as one initial offer up to this point with the Blues putting €60 million on the table.

Those Chelsea fans who are dubious about the idea of buying another striker after the recent purchase of Michy Batshuayi should remember two things.

Firstly, Conte is an unconventional coach who regularly plays a 3-5-2, or something similar, with two strikers. He did so at times at EURO 2016 and he may look to change the way Chelsea play this season to give them a more attacking and direct threat.

The second consideration is the future of Diego Costa who had a rough ride last term and who seems unsettled.

No one would doubt Costa’s quality but he may not be a Chelsea man come September.

Either way you can’t have too many good players and Morata’s qualities are obvious.

TFF believes that, while he may take time to adapt to life in The Premier League he’s young enough, at 23, to find his feet and certainly has the quality to produce the goods.

He’s deceptively quick, has a wonderful first touch and his scoring record is steadily improving. Morata has 6 goals in 13 outings for Spain and 27 in 93 for Juventus despite not always being a starter.

Here are some of his highlights. Chelsea fans: another excellent potential addition?
