Chelsea watching pacy winger who was subject of bid in January – report

Chelsea look ever more as if they will win the league at the first time of asking under the management of Antonio Conte.

But we have seen plenty to suggest, in his short time in England, that this is a relentless coach who will push this club to the limit of their potential.

While he’s an uber-meticulous football man, he must have given some thought to next season and how he can make a serious challenge for European, as well as domestic honours.

And fresh blood will be prominent among those thoughts. One player who has been linked with Chelsea in the latest news cycle is also of interest to Arsenal and other top clubs.

British media outlet, The Daily Mail, reports:

Arsenal and Chelsea join list of top clubs to keep tabs on £6million-rated Nigerian starlet Henry Onyekuru

The report states that the player was the subject of a £1m bid from Celtic in the summer.

The 19-year-old Nigerian has been one of the many African stars to be imported to Belgium and he has been on fire for his new club Eupen since he joined them in 2015 with 16 goals in his first 40 appearances for the club.

The 5ft 9in forward is pacy and strong for his size. With the future of Diego Costa looking increasingly uncertain beyond this summer, Chelsea will be looking to add to the depth of their forward line come June. And although few can expect Henry Onyekuru to be an immediate starter for Chelsea he does look as if he can have a big future in the game.

Chelsea fans: is he good enough to be a Stamford star of the future?
