Chelsea: World record move mooted – player wants to join – report

Chelsea could be one of the biggest movers in the coming transfer window.

Not least because they have made huge profits on player sales over the last year but because they may still lose the likes of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard this summer.

And they may start by re-signing a player who they didn’t seem to fancy a few years ago – for a world record fee.

British media outlet, The Sun, reports:

Chelsea set to make world record £100m move for Romelu Lukaku after he tells pals he wants Stamford Bridge return

Lukaku is the leading scorer in the Premier League this season with 21 goals to his name. And although Everton have done reasonably well this term we increasingly expect the top scorer in the league to be from an elite club like Chelsea themselves.

So the feat is even more remarkable for a player who marries brawn and precision beautifully.

TFF still wonders whether Chelsea would be buying a truly top technician if Lukaku came in this summer for that world record fee.

There is no doubt that he is very suited to the Premier League – perhaps he’s the perfect striker for England – but the Champions League requires different skills and if Chelsea were spending this sort of money they would surely want a player who was equally potent in both competitions.

Chelsea fans: is he worth anywhere near this amount of cash or is the transfer fee not important if he ultimately helps you to replace Costa and much on in Europe next season?
