3-4-3: Chelsea’s Best Team of the Season – Do You Agree?

They came from nowhere to really obliterate all comers this season and Chelsea were in some ways the surprise package of the Premier League.

We keep blathering on about that 3-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates in the late summer. But at that point it was so difficult to see Chelsea even getting into the top four let alone winning the title comfortably.

But that proved to be a turning point and Antonio Conte showed incredible bravery and courage to change the formation of the side at that point. He went to three at the back and Chelsea never looked back.

That three at the back comprised Cahill, Luiz and Cesar and they have to go in to Chelsea’s strongest team of the season. And of course, at the back, Thibaut Courtois was brilliant again.

The midfield picks itself with Kante and Matic in the engine room, flanked by Marcus Alonso and Victor Moses as the energetic wing backs.

And up top Eden Hazard proved again that he is one of the best players in the world when his focus is right for Chelsea. He may prove difficult to hold onto this summer.

Diego Costa is another one whose future is very uncertain but he put in a brilliant shift up top and was a constant thorn in the side of the opposition. And Pedro was a surprise package for Chelsea also as he kept Willian out of the team for the most important games.

So it’s a really predictable strongest XI for Chelsea and they were able to deploy this team for most of the season as they were very lucky on the injury front. So this is our strongest Chelsea XI of the season.
