Chelsea’s Player of the Season So Far

Twelve straight wins have utterly transformed Chelsea’s season and put them miles ahead of the competition with half of the campaign left to play.

It’s a team game and Chelsea’s strength is in their unit. The 3-4-3 seems to work beautifully in the Premier League. Chelsea still get the width provided by Alonso and Moses but they can also offer an extra man in midfield because of the system.

Every man has performed well but there are some stand out performers.

Pedro, for example, looks like a completely different player from last year. He seems to have more physical presence and his final ball is superb.

Diego Costa has shaken of the problems of last term to show once more that he is a world class finisher and perfect for the Premier League.

And Antonio Conte has also got the best out of Eden Hazard once more. His talent was never in doubt but he was shadow of his normal self last season and many felt that he would have to move on to rediscover the magic.

But TFF believes that the man who has done more than anyone to make this Chelsea team what it is is the superb dynamo of a midfielder that is N’Golo Kante.

Gary Lineker said at the start of the season that:

He tweeted: “Wish Kanté well and thank him dearly.

“He’s the main reason Leicester won the title and will make a massive difference to Chelsea’s chances.”

And those words could prove to be remarkably prophetic and insightful. Kante helped make Leicester champions last season and without him they are now flirting with relegation. Meanwhile Chelsea are powering ahead of the rest in no small part because of the tireless displays of a player who seems to have the lot.

The fact that it’s his first season at the club makes his contribution all the more remarkable.

If he continues apace, he will surely be regarded as Chelsea’s player of the season come May.

Chelsea fans: is Kante your star performer so far?
