Close: Sensational Premier League return for Manchester United legend?

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra could well be on his way back to the Premier League with Crystal Palace.

Latest reports suggest that the Frenchman is close to agreeing a deal to return after a sensational couple of years in Italy with Juventus, where Evra won the league twice and reached the Champions League final.

Sky Sports reports:

Crystal Palace are close to agreeing a deal to sign Patrice Evra from Juventus, according to Sky in Italy.

It’s understood several clubs are interested, but Palace are favourites to sign the former Manchester United left-back.

The 35-year-old left-back was one of the outstanding players in the most successful period of Manchester United’s history.

He scored 10 goals in 379 appearances over the course of 9 seasons for Manchester United and won just about every club honour in that time.

He was a virtual ever-present in Sir Alex Ferguson’s team and had supreme consistency and athleticism. As well as being an excellent defender he offered so much going forward and was a constant dynamo down that left flank.

This is why TFF believes that, even at 35, he has so much to offer Crystal Palace in the intense cauldron of the Premier League.

If a deal can be done Crystal Palace will be getting a true thoroughbred.

Evra has played 81 times for France and appeared 79 times for Juventus in two and a half seasons. He has made ten appearances this season but has lost his status as a guaranteed starter.

Crystal Palace fans: can you see Patrice starting games for the team or will he be used more as a squad player off the bench?
