Report: Career Defining Moments for Tottenham’s Best Player?

Tottenham have done well to hold on to Harry Kane in the face of so much hype and interest in the player over the last few years. In many ways, he the perfect Premier League number 9. He’s tough and athletic but he has enough pace to trouble defenders.

And his precision and ruthlessness in front of goal is something to behold.

A player of this quality should be expecting to earn similar amounts to other leading lights in the league so Tottenham may have to break their wage structure if they want to hold on to him long-term. Because, despite his allegiance to Tottenham, the London Evening Standard reports that he is agitating for more money.

Harry Kane seeks new Tottenham contract with current salary less than half of what Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge earn

That figure is said to be around £50,000 a week. And while it’s an eye-bulging amount of money for the man in the street, it is a comparatively low wage for a league which hands out as much as 250k per week to its biggest stars.

Kane loves Tottenham but he also knows that he could treble his wages with a move to any one of his suitors.

Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy earn more money and aren’t even getting a regular game at Liverpool and Leicester right now. Meanwhile, Kane is the heartbeat of Spurs and wants a contract which reflects that.

Kane has played 17 times for England and scored 5 goals. At club level, the 23-year-old has hit 67 in 134 for Tottenham at a rate of exactly one goal every two games.
