Deal Close: And Manchester United delay announcing squad numbers until it is done – report

Manchester United have reportedly delayed the announcement of their squad numbers for the new season until they have concluded a deal for the French international Paul Pogba according to reports. British media outlet, The Sun, says:

Manchester United want Paul Pogba deal tied up for world-record £105m fee before naming squad numbers but Wayne Rooney has his favourite No10 shirt

The report also suggests that a deal is now close for the 23-year-old midfielder who will arrive on a five-year deal at £202,000 per week in salary.

TFF feels that a deal may not be quite so straightforward. Real Madrid may yet have a say in this move and the feeling is still that the Juventus man would prefer to go to Spain given the choice.

Perhaps after a fairly quiet EURO 2016 Real Madrid are yet to show their hand and Manchester United seem keen to pay whatever the going rate is to bring the brilliant Frenchman to the club.

New Manchester United Jose Mourinho is known to want to conclude his business in timely fashion this summer and not let transfers drag on until the last few days of August.

But the size of this deal means that it may take some time yet for a conclusion. Paul Pogba is expected back from his holiday in the next few days and this could, however, bring that deal to a head.

Pogba scored 10 goals in 49 gammes for Juventus last season.
