Phenom linked with January transfer to Everton

Everton have had a relatively underwhelming season so far and few would be surprised if they delved into the transfer market in January to freshen up a squad which is currently lacking inspiration.

The injury to Yannick Bolasie has put The Toffees in a sticky situation and they have been linked with forward additions in the winter window.

The Mirror reports that this particular injury may bring forward their long-standing interest in a Leicester star of the future.

The report suggests that Everton were planning to make a move for the 5ft 8in winger next summer but they may step up their pursuit in January with additions now needed.

The 20-year-old England U21 international, who has five caps and two goals for his country, announced himself on the scene with a spectacular consolation goal against Manchester United in Leicester’s 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford earlier in the season.

Consistency is obviously key in the career of any elite footballer but the skill that he showed in scoring that goal demonstrated fantastic raw materials.

But whether he would be an instant hit at Everton, considering his tender years, is open to debate. Nevertheless he would represent a very exciting signing for the club.

Let’s take a look at the young man in action. Everton fans – would this be a quick fix or more of a long-term investment? And would you take him or Memphis, given the choice?
