Dribbling compared to Messi: Can Manchester United afford not to bid?

Manchester United look much more solid under Jose Mourinho but the Portuguese maestro will be desperate to add some cutting edge up top in the summer transfer window.

The likes of Neymar have been mentioned in the rumour mills in the same breath as Manchester United over the last year so but a move for the Brazilian superstar is unrealistic.

What United need to do is snare the next Neymar. Or the next Messi – a player who is yet to find his way to the very top echelon of the sport.

In that respect, Manchester United should surely be casting an interested eye in the direction of Juventus star Paolo Dybala this summer.

The 23-year-old Argentinian only moved to Juventus in 2015-16 for around 32m Euros plus add-ons. But he has quickly set Serie A alight and The Daily Mail notes ahead of Dybala’s Champions League game with Barcelona this week that:

His sublime dribbling skill has drawn comparisons with opponent Lionel Messi

Dybala has long been linked with a move to Manchester United amongst other clubs – and it’s easy to see why.

He not only scores loads of goals – he’s hit 37 in 78 games for Juventus – but he plays the game with such swagger that he would be a huge crowd pleaser at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will surely be prioritising the signing of forwards this summer. They have a decent defence and midfield. But they need speed up top and Dybala would almost guarantee a better forward line for Manchester United.

Manchester United fans – would Dybala be the perfect addition to a forward line which currently lacks flare and pace?
