Cesc replacement? Chelsea told stunning playmaker is available

Now here is a potential transfer deal that could suit everyone.

Chelsea are possibly looking for more thrust from their attacking midfield areas and, to that end, The London Evening Standard reports today:

Agent Jorge Mendes has told Arsenal and Chelsea that Real Madrid are prepared to sell James Rodriguez.

The report states that Real Madrid want £65m for the 25-year-old playmaker who is the regular scorer of stunning goals but hasn’t been a nailed on starter for Los Blancos for some time.

As for Real, well they could possibly use a more experienced and assured present in the number ten position. Someone who can properly optimise and utilise the pace and power of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo on the wings. Step forward Cesc Fabregas.

He was never blessed with pace and has perhaps slowed further after so much football from such a young age. But, at 29, his football brain is as sharp as ever.

And Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has alluded to interest in his latest comments:

“Cesc is a great player but it is not very straightforward. I am going to end up with a squad where three or four players do not get selected. To therefore put another player in there makes it difficult.”

The fact that the player was even namechecked by Zidane will be of interest to the media but perhaps he is suggesting that he wants to offload someone before making a move.

Rodriguez has 48 caps for Colombia and 16 goals. He’s scored 88 goals in 302 clim games for teams including Porto, Monaco and Real Madrid.

Let’s see some of his best action in recent times. Chelsea fans: Do you need Rodriguez or Lukaku more?
