Everton: Deal Agreed – report

We spoke yesterday about the potential of Everton spending large amounts of money in the January transfer window with their newfound financial stability.

One on the five players mentioned as a possible transfer target for the winter window has reportedly agreed a deal to join Everton.

British media outlet, The Sun, reports:

Everton agree £10m move for Charlton teenager Ademola Lookman

Lookman has played five times for the England U19s and twice for the U20s during his short yet promising career.

But it’s his club form which is really excited observers. Since his debut last year the winger has scored 10 goals in just 45 league appearances for Charlton and put in some sublime performances from the wide areas.

The hope of Everton fans will be that Lookman can slowly integrate himself into the team but be an excellent replacement in the short-term for Yannick Balasie who suffered a serious injury in the autumn just a dozen games into his Everton career.

He does look as if he ticks all the boxes to be a really good Premier League wide man. He’s fearless, quick and loves cutting inside. He can feasibly play on either way and has really good technique as well as a football brain.

Everton fans will hope that this is the first of several signings in the January transfer window in which they will look to bolster a squad which is been a little bit unspectacular so far this season.

Everton fans: a player to go into the first XI straight away or is he more of a squad player for now?
