Everton eye swoop for English quartet: Delap, White, Stones & Grealish

Premier League Everton are looking to add four English players to their squad for next season. The Toffees are looking to sign Chelsea’s Liam Delap, Arsenal’s Ben White and Manchester City duo John Stones and Jack Grealish this summer.

A move for the quartet would be the start of an ambitious recruitment drive, as David Moyes looks to move Everton forward next season. The Toffees squad has been thin this season, and several players are likely to leave the Merseyside outfit this summer.

They need to sign players in several problem areas, including both full-back positions, where the team has been short this season. Signing Arsenal’s White could be the perfect solution, as the former Brighton defender has played all across the Gunners backline since joining the north London club.

Signing Grealish this summer is likely to be the easier deal, whether that be on another loan or for a small fee. The England international revived his flagging career on loan on Merseyside before a stress fracture cut his season short.

The former Villa star has stated his desire to stay, and City wants to remove him from their wage bill. Therefore, a compromise on a deal is expected.

Liam Delap has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea since joining from Ipswich Town last summer. The forward has made just 11 Premier League starts this season and scored just twice in all competitions.

He was also linked with a move to Everton, but reportedly chose to move to south west London instead. There is now a suggestion that he would be open to a return to the north west, where he grew up playing for Manchester City’s academy.

Talking of City, the Citizens’ centre-back John Stones will leave the club this summer when his contract expires. One of the clubs being heavily linked with a move for the England international is Everton, where he first made a name before his switch to City in 2016.

However, Stones reportedly has interest from across Europe, including reportedly from Bayern Munich and AC Milan.
