Everton: Striker next as Koeman confirms he wants more signings?

Everton have clearly been one of the clubs with most intent in the transfer window.

They have done one of the biggest deals anywhere in Europe this January, for the tenacious talents of French international Morgan Schniederlin.

And, in Ademola Lookman, Everton appear to have signed a baby-faced gem.

But Ronald Koeman clearly wants to add more numbers to his squad for a second half of the season push and he was clear about this in his latest public utterances.

Koeman is quoted in British media outlet, Sky Sports, as saying:

“I hope for more players coming in,” said Koeman.

“We are working hard to make the team stronger. But we are looking for quality, not just numbers.

“The relationship with Steve Walsh is good. We talk daily about players and about scouting.”

The same source today passes on reports that Everton are having problems getting another deal over the line – this time for a striker.

Everton’s deal for Ishak Belfodil is hanging by a thread after negotiations between the Premier League club and Belfodil’s agent hit a snag, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 6ft 3in 25-year-old has been on fire this season for Belgian club Standard Liege with 7 goals in 16 games.

He’s stands at a monstrous 6ft 3in which gives you an idea of his style of play. But as well as being good in the air he has decent pace and looks comfortable with the ball at his feet.

He made his debut for Algeria in 2013 and has gone on to represent his country 14 times since then, with two goals scored.

Everton fans: Could you see Belfodil playing alongside Romelu Lukaku in the same side or would it be a question of either or in the starting line up?
