Everton transfer deal in the balance?

TFF has long been of the opinion that the best possible signing Everton could make in January would be that of Axel Witsel.

Everton clearly have more financial clout these days and with that has come a heightening in the calibre of player that they are rumored to be interested in.

Witsel has regularly been linked with Everton but latest reports suggest that he may go elsewhere in search of the ludicrous fortunes which are being offered to players in Asia right now.

British media outlet, The Sun, reports:

Axel Witsel to China: Chelsea and Everton target set for Far East as reports in homeland link Belgium ace with incredible £300,000-a-week deal

At 27 years of age we consider the Belgian international to be the complete midfielder. He has played 76 times for his country in the golden generation and scored eight goals.

And he has been hugely successful at club level wherever he has played. Most notably with 22 goals in 179 games for Zenit St. Petersburg.

But with the surge in reports that the player on his way to China Everton may well miss out on this one purely due to the money on offer.

But if it’s top football that he is after, then what better place to ply his trade in the Premier League while he’s in his pomp?

Let’s have a look at the brilliant dynamo in action. Everton fans -would this be the best possible signing that you could make in the January transfer window?

  1. I hope we pass on this player who I regard as overhyped and who has messed around for some time over his next move – a trait that is often reflected on the pitch as well as off it.
