Everton Transfers: Ronnie are you Ok?

As we are sure most Everton fans did, TFF applauded the signing of Ronald Koeman as the new manager of the club.

Whoever else Everton sign this summer they have done their best business already in securing one of the elite younger managers in the world of football.

But reports today suggests that he may be considering a move for ex-Manchester United ‘star’ Luis Nani.

The Daily Mail reckons:

Everton keen to land former Manchester United star Nani but face competition from Valencia and Inter Milan

The Portugal forward has scored two goals at EURO 2016 and looked decent. But we can almost guarantee that he would generate far more groans than grins if he did join Everton this summer.

Because leopards rarely change their spots and Manchester United fans waited. And waited. And waited for the better part of a decade for him to show the sort of consistency that would have made him a top player.

Sadly, he isn’t and probably never will be a top player. He’s 29 now and has had a decent time in the lower European footballing echelons of Portugal over the last two years, with 24 goals in 84 games.

He’s got pace and is a great athlete. But he makes the wrong decisions too often. He doesn’t have what we like to call ‘the football brain.’

Ronald Koeman is very highly rated by TFF and Everton have done superb business to get him in. But he’d have to be a total genius to get Nani giving 7 or 8 out of 10 performances every week. Lest we forget, Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson never managed it.

Everton fans: would he be worth a shout at around £6m?
