Deal Close? Everton have opened discussions to sign 45 cap international

Everton continue to be linked to some quality players with latest reports suggesting that they are in talks with Porto for their powerful forward Vincent Aboubakar.

The Daily Mail states:

Everton have opened discussions over a £16m deal for Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar.

The 24-year-old Cameroon international, who has appeared 45 times and scored 13 goals for his country, is a powerful man who stands at 6ft and change.

He only rocked up at Porto in 2014 but, such is the turnover of successful players in Portugal, that a quick move would be nothing out of the ordinary.

Despite Everton striker Romelu Lukaku being linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer, and arguably agitating for one, the report suggests that the move for the forward would be to complement the Belgian in a two man attack, rather than as a replacement for Lukaka.

We are sure that Everton fans will have their own strong opinions on this. Some will find Lukaku’s behaviour somewhat disrespectful and he may be playing a dangerous game.

He hasn’t exactly lit up EURO 2016 where his touch has been really poor at crucial moments and he may ultimately find the new direction of the club quite alluring. TFF has absolutely no doubts that Ronald Koeman will take the team forwards and quickly.

Aboubakar has been in great form at Porto, scoring 17 goals in 43 league appearance last term.
