Exactly what Tottenham need: Pochettino considers January swoop for inspiration

In recent weeks Tottenham have looked, at times, as if they are playing in April rather than October. Because, while there has been no lack of effort, they look as if they have hit a wall already.

It’s all perspiration and little inspiration as Tottenham chug through games and look nothing like the side that confidently beat Manchester City a few weeks back.

Most sides would struggle without Harry Kane but there is a general look of lethargy about the side and they are in need of some kind of tonic.

So when we read the latest tabloid rumours we thought that this one made a lot of sense.

The Mirror reports that:

Tottenham , who remain five games without a win, made in enquiry for Isco during the summer transfer window but did not pursue their interest.

They could return in January with a loan bid, however, with Pochettino a big fan of the playmaker.

Isco could be the perfect catalyst for an improved run and some more spectacular performances. Because the thought of the fearless Spaniard wriggling through Premier League defences is enough to make the mouth water.

Even though the 24-year-old hasn’t managed to nail down a weekly place in the Real Madrid side, he still plays regularly and usually to a high standard.

The 5ft 9in attacking midfielder has played 158 times for Los Blancos and scored 24 times. He’s represented Spain 14 times and scored once.

He likes to come in off the left side but can also play through the middle. Obviously Tottenham fans want to see Dele Alli start so perhaps the man most at risk of losing his place, if Isco arrives, is Christian Eriksen.

Let’s see Isco in action. Tottenham fans: the perfect addition?
