Fresh from winning the Europa Conference League, Crystal Palace are on the hunt for a new head coach to replace Austrian Oliver Glasner, who has left the Eagles on the expiration of his contract.
Lampard is one of the favourites for the job
With favourite Spanish boss Andoni Iraola reportedly now in talks with Liverpool over their vacant hot seat, Coventry boss Frank Lampard has emerged as one of the favourites to become the next Eagles boss.
Lampard has done a fantastic job at Coventry, guiding the Sky Blues back to the Premier League in season 2025/26 after a 25-year absence from the English top-flight. It was a massive achievement for Lampard and his staff, considering how long it’s been since Coventry played top-flight football.
It wasn’t the first managerial post in which Lampard has impressed. The former England international guided Derby to the brink of promotion, only to miss out.
Lampard also guided Chelsea to a Champions League spot, despite taking over the team in the midst of a transfer ban. He kept Everton in the Premier League when the Toffees looked set for the drop.
The former Chelsea midfielder has been in charge of Coventry since November 2024. City narrowly missed out on promotion in the 2024/25 season, finishing fifth in the table and losing in the play-off semi-finals to Sunderland.
Other head coaches in the frame

Although Lampard is one of the favourites for the job, there are other head coaches in the frame for the job, such as Lens boss Pierre Sage, who has done a sensational job with the Ligue One outfit.
Another head coach linked with the job has been German boss Dino Toppmoller, formerly of Eintracht Frankfurt. He guided the other Eagles to Champions League qualification in the 2024/25 season before leaving his post in 2026.
Palace co-owner and chairman Steve Parish has revealed that the team’s recent European triumph would help appoint a higher-calibre head coach this summer.
