Genius: Manchester United’s World Class Front 3 vs Leicester?

One of the greatest disappointments for me last season was that we didn’t get to see a sublime partnership forming between Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford.

Whenever fit, Jose Mourinho instead opted for the more conventional and less gifted Romelu Lukaku as a powerful focal point of the team.

But in pre-season Alexis Sanchez was in fine form when positioned up top. With Lukaku only back this week, we are hoping that Mourinho is forced into fielding this wonderful blend of attacking talent against Leicester.

Of course the future of Anthony Martial is up in the air. Many to most Manchester United fans still hope that he will stay at the club and a fast start could cement his place in the team.

He needs to play on the left with Sanchez through the middle. Marcus Rashford should also now be expecting to start in what could be a wonderfully modern, pacy and technical front three that could take a game to any opponent.

But they need minutes together to form that bond and whether they will get it remains to be seen. Lukaku perhaps cost too much money to be benched but we’d love to see Sanchez at the point of a more fluid attack instead.

And Sanchez has to be the key man against Leicester. While World Cup stars dribble back to the club with slightly more rotund bellies than usual, Sanchez relaxed throughout the summer and has returned to a full pre-season looking sharper than ever.

He will drag Manchester United to victory in this one and we hope to see Martial and Rashford as the supporting cast.
