Good News for Arsenal?

Arsenal seem to be terminally teetering on the brink of crisis as they have seldom managed to hold onto their very best players or win serial silverware over the last decade.

At least in terms of playing staff there appears to be more stability at the club over the last few years and Arsenal have seemingly ceased their activities as a selling club.

But the latest contract wrangles with their best two players, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, have once more suggested that the elite players are ultimately uncomfortable with the ambition shown at Arsenal. But British media outlet The Mirror has reported this week that Alexis Sanchez is prepared to give the club one more season – even if that means leaving on a Bosman free transfer at the end of his contract in 2018.

They say:

Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez ready to stay another season — but eyes Bosman transfer to CHELSEA unless things improve

While Ozil can blow hot and cold Alexis Sanchez is a consistently top performer who is absolutely crucial to Arsneal’s attack.

Without him Arsenal would be reliant on the mercurial qualities of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to provide the ammunition for Olivier Giroud up front.

It’s certainly not a forward line which inspires fear among the opposition and it is difficult to imagine Arsenal being able to sign a player as good as Sanchez if the Chilean were to leave.

From a business perspective, Arsenal should possibly cash in while they can make a huge amount of money on the player. But in playing terms he could be the main man again next season and increase the Gunner’s revenue through merchandising, Champions League wins and a higher finish in the table.

Arsenal fans – should the club cash in now or keep Sanchez even if it means losing him on a free at the end of next season?
