Head Turned: Tottenham to lose one of their best performers?

Tottenham have had another brilliant season and now look nailed on for Champions League football next term. They will obviously want to invest in even more cutting edge for next campaign but its just as important that they keep their uber-talented squad intact.

And that could prove to be difficult after continued reports that England international Kyle Walker may want a move to Manchester.

British media outlet, The Daily Mirror, talks of the annoyance of the player after he wasn’t selected for the North London derby:

Manchester City on alert after Kyle Walker fumes at being dropped for north London derby

And respected Mirror journalist, John Cross, has spoken about how the player has had his ‘head turned’ by interest from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Walker has been a revelation at Tottenham this season and ironed out the kinks that held him back in previous years. With 33 appearances for Tottenham he has arguably been one of the top three performers in the team. Not only has his defending improved but he has become an even more dangerous attacking weapon with his pace and whipped crosses.

He would certainly be a big loss for Tottenham and a player who could cause all sorts of damage for Manchester City.

Kieran Trippier has shown himself to be an Abel understudy for Walker when called upon this season. But he lacks the explosive pace off the mark which makes Walker such a valuable Premier League asset.

This is one which will run and run and TFF sees it finishing badly for Tottenham. If Manchester City throw enough money at this situation and the player wants a move then Tottenham will probably have to relent.

Tottenham fans: is Trippier a worthy replacement or would you need to invest again?
