Huge Liverpool bid reported for world class forward

Liverpool Crest

Every now and again a player comes along who seems to defy a pricetag. It doesn’t matter how much you have to pay for him because if you get him into your side you know that you’re going to be noticeably more successful – not just for the now but for the long term. In that sense the money doesn’t matter because whatever the price, the player will add value.

And TFF can’t help but think that that is the case with the brilliant Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe. Still a teenager but he has such skill and goalscoring ability that he will surely become a household name for what is one of the most exciting teams in Europe.

The romantics among us would love him to continue playing for Monaco and help that wonderful team develop. But football is no longer like that and he will surely be snapped up by a big club if not this summer then next.

There were reports earlier in the month that Manchester United made a huge bid for the player and now Liverpool have supposedly got in on the act in what would surely be a record transfer for them if they could pull it off.

Spanish media outlet Marca, who tend to have an ear to the ground on all things transfer related, reported last night that Liverpool have had a bid rejected. And it’s a bigger bid than anything we’ve seen them make before.

As for the player, he is just a force of nature. Many people have likened him to the sensational French international Thierry Henry. We think he’s got a little bit of Brazilian Ronaldo in there as well because he loves to dribble and take on his man. He scored 26 goals in just 43 games this season in what has been a real breakthrough campaign for him.

Liverpool fans – do you think there is any realistic prospect of you signing the player ahead of the European elite or is this just a stab in the dark?
