Inter Milan targeting summer moves for Guglielmo Vicario and Curtis Jones

Italian champions Inter could raid the English Premier League this summer, as they eye moves for Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones.

The Nerazzurri once again became champions of Italy on Sunday, as Cristian Chivu’s team defeated Parma to clinch their 21st Scudetto. Despite the victory, the Milan giants are looking to strengthen their squad.

Inter are looking for a new number one

If reports are accurate, Inter are looking to the Premier League to add depth and quality to their squad this summer, especially in the goalkeeping area.

Inter have long been linked with a move for Tottenham goalkeeper Vicario, who has endured mixed fortunes during his time in North London.

It seems that Tottenham’s status next season will not have a bearing on Vicario joining Inter, as the move looks close to completion. With Inter’s first-choice Yann Sommer now 37, the move for a slightly younger goalkeeper is an understandable one.

Reports from the Italian media suggest that Inter’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, has met with Tottenham representatives on multiple occasions in an attempt to thrash out a deal to sign Vicario.

In fact, some reports claim that a draft contract has already been agreed for the shot stopper to move to the Milanese club, with the player himself keen on a return to his homeland this summer.

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is expected to leave the Reds this summer, with some suggesting the academy product is being forced out of the club. One factor in Jones’ potential exit is that his contract will have just 12 months remaining this summer.

Another is that, despite spending the majority of his career as a midfielder, he is suddenly playing as a makeshift right-back under Liverpool head coach Arne Slot.

A move to the Italian champions may well be a tempting one, and at a mooted fee of around €10-15M, he could prove to be a bargain buy for the Nerazzurri.
