Is Memphis Depay the perfect fit for Manchester United?

There are, of course, big concerns over the defence right now. But we feel that the other big problem with the team is on the right side. If Manchester United had a player like Angel di Maria on the right, natural balance would be restored and the team would virtually pick itself.

At the moment the left flank looks fresh and invenitve but the right needs help. Juan Cuadrado would be an exciting option but wouldn’t be cheap. And there is an even better player out there. He’s younger and he could reportedly still move in January. The Express writes:

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are on red alert after learning PSV are willing to sell winger Memphis Depay during the winter window.

A source close to PSV said: “Many clubs have made approaches for him next summer but something could still happen this winter. The big four English clubs are very interested.”

If ever there was a player whose style suited Manchester United this is he. He’s really quick, powerful and has the sort of guile that would get United fans off their seats. He regularly plays on the left wing but he’s right-footed and can switch flanks with Di Maria until the opposition blood is truly twisted.

With him in the side Manchester United would have symmetry once more – Di Maria and Depay on the flanks with Falcao gobbling up the service and Rooney in behind at number 10 – what a front line.

We are surprised that LvG – a fellow Dutchman who coached Depay at The World Cup – hasn’t already made a move but this guy is ripe for a transfer to England and we would love to see him at Manchester United.

Let’s see him in action. United fans: too raw to make an impact or is this guy the flyer that Manchester United have been missing on the right side?
