‘That offends him’: Chelsea target in desperation says former boss to file transfer rumours

If rumours are to be believed, Chelsea are looking to spend over the next transfer window and TFF can’t think of a better player for them to sign than the brilliant Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez.

Ex-Real Madrid boss Jorge Valdano has been speaking about the frustration of the player at not being central to the plans of Real Madrid in quotes which could excite Chelsea fans.

Rodriguez has often been linked with The Blues and Valdano is quoted in British media outlet, The Daily Mirror, as saying:

“James is extraordinarily respectful of Real Madrid and has worn himself out saying that this is the club of his life and that he’ll give anything to succeed at this club,” he told Onda Cero.

“At Real, he’s been hidden in the lower draw and that offends him.

“He’s young and in the prime of his career, you can understand his desperation when he’s not getting any minutes.

“James wants what all professionals want: to be a little bit wanted, to have minutes and to be a key player.”

The Colombia international who has 52 caps and 17 goals for his country started his career at Real Madrid on fire on the back of a great World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

But his star has faded to a degree and, while he still gets some minutes, he is no longer considered a first choice player at the club.

Still only 25, the 5ft 11in forward can play anywhere across the front line or in the hole. He’s quick, inventive and has wonderful technique. Some may question his determination and work rate. But if task master Antonio Conte had any worries about that he surely wouldn’t consider him for Chelsea.

TFF believes that the player would be a more dynamic option to Cesc Fabregas and could also play on the wing. He would certainly be among the more interesting signings that Chelsea could make in the transfer window.

Chelsea fans: a top signing or does he lack the work rate to be a success under Antonio Conte?
